PROFILE - ANGELA FALLAVER

 

Angela is a registered Counselling psychologist who provides assessment, diagnosis, and therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with a range of presenting issues. Angela has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Criminology, and Justice, a Bachelor in Psychology, and a Masters of Psychology (Counselling Psychology). Angela has experience in working with a range of issues and difficulties such as (but not limited to):

 

·       Anxiety

·       Depression

·       Bullying and peer issues

·       Low self esteem

·       Gender and sexuality issues

·       Trauma related disorders

·       Stress

·       Relationship difficulties and family conflict

·       Personality disorders

·       Sexual and physical abuse

·       Autism spectrum disorder 

 

Angela places primary focus on the therapeutic alliance between the client and therapist and aims to provide a non-judgemental, safe environment for people to explore, heal, and grow. Angela may work from different evidence based therapeutic frameworks depending on the needs of the client. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Existential therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is also available. 

 

Angela has a particular interest in working with young people. Angela has worked in youth mental health before and has also conducted research into the role of cyber bullying on self esteem in adolescence, and Gender and a cultural construct.
